There are two types of sites in SharePoint: Communication sites and Team sites. There is some overlap, but before you spend time building a site (from scratch or using a site template), it’s best to understand the purpose of each and how they align with your needs.

Choosing the right type of SharePoint site

SharePoint team sites, for example, are best suited for collaborative work, serving as a space where two or more team members can create and develop documents concurrently.
