Data Access for onboarding and offboarding employees

For industries and organisations synonymous with a high level of staff turnover, it’s often a struggle to effectively manage the onboarding and offboarding of employees, whilst keeping critical business data secure.

Typically businesses have to manually update user access rights and transfer data between current and former employees each time an employee joins or leaves a business. The whole process can be automated however with the help of Torsion.

With Torsion, ‘who has access to what’ responds as business circumstances change and access is granted based on ‘why’ they need it. If somebody joins, changes roles or leaves, their access is updated automatically.

If Torsion spots any suspicious behaviour, possibly somebody external or no longer working for the company still accessing data, it will either block access or alert a data owner depending on what level of security has been set by the organisation.

And of course, when someone changes roles there can be handover periods, secondments and covers. So Torsion doesn’t just switch off access from their old role. Instead, their old access is carefully decayed over time, while any new access lights up straight away.

If someone is covering a role temporarily because somebody has left, access to the information they need is immediately granted and then automatically revoked when the cover ends.
